Travel Accessories

I have been pondering what to do about toiletries when I travel. I used to have a toiletry bag, but my things never quite fit right, it was too big and bulky, when I would hang it with the hook thing would fall out, and it wasn’t clear so I had to keep liquids separate for TSA.
So, I retired it, and for a while, I would use ziplock bags for toiletries. It works but it’s also very meh. And the bags don’t last very long. And I just didn’t like it.
So I bought two smallish clear bags and put liquids in one and everything else in the other. That has worked well enough, especially since having two bags means I can find more nooks and crannies in which to shove them. However, having two bags also means that I have two bags, which gets old.
She likes it because it can hang on the back of a door, freeing up precious counter space when we have to share a small bathroom, and it packs relatively flat. I originally bought one but it didn’t quite work for me, so I returned it.
Then I did a little poking around online on a whim and found an Eagle Creek bag that opens up to include a detachable clear bag.http://shop.eaglecreek.com/pack-it-original-wallaby/d/1346?_=_&utm_source=bing&utm_medium=&utm_term=431|pg46797&utm_content=4583039343351257&utm_campaign=Shopping
I love this feature, because I can keep it separate during travel, pull the clear bag with liquids out at TSA but leave the rest folded up in my carry on, and then reattach it at my destination to hang on a hook and keep everything together. Super cool, right?
I’m a bit concerned that it’s too big (13x8x3), but that’s the trade-off for having everything together. The upside is that when it’s zipped up, it’s essentially another packing cube. And I do love the packing cubes.
So, I ordered it and I’ll give it a shot with a packing dry run. If it doesn’t work, I can return it and stick with my tried-and-true-and-boring clear plastic bags.
And the best part is that if I buy the bag through the Southwest Airlines Rapid Rewards site, I get four points/miles to the dollar! And, I did a quick internet search for “Eagle Creek free shipping promo code” and got a code (FREE2DAY) (you’re welcome) to apply to 2day UPS shipping fo free. This makes it a better deal than Amazon, thanks to the free shipping and bonus miles.

I can’t wait to try it out!
